Private transfer to Bled. Check-in at your hotel and rest of the day at leisure.
Bled is famous for its blue-green alpine lake, picture-postcard church on an island, a medieval castle clinging to a rocky cliff and some of the highest peaks of the Julian Alps and the Karavanke
as backdrops – Bled is definitely a must visit place while in Slovenia. We strongly suggest that you explore beautiful Bled area on your own.
Here are some suggestions:
– WALK AROUND THE LAKE: You will need approximately an hour to walk around the lake which is one of the most popular walks in Slovenia. Lake Bled is a glacial lake and the only lake in
Slovenia with an island. The path around the lake is well maintained, undemanding and tends to be crowded, especially at the weekends. It is 6 km long and suitable for a light exercise, walk or
jogging. You can start the path around the lake at any point. The path is well maintained and will take you onto a paved road, gravel walking path and a short boardwalk just above the water level. There are plenty of benches along the path where you can sit down, relax and take in the natural beauty and observe animal life at the lake.
– VISIT VINTGAR GORGE: The Vintgar Gorge, carved out by the Radovna river, is one of the most visited natural landmarks in Slovenia. The area of the gorge belongs to the Triglav National Park. Vintgar itself is 1,600 metres long. It ends with the picturesque Šum waterfall, the biggest river waterfall in Slovenia. From Bled you will need some 3 h of walking in total for round trip, distance is approx. 10 km on mostly flat terrain.
– EASY HIKE TO OSOJNICA: This lovely walk takes you south-west from Lake Bled onto three different hilltops, each one offering a different view, including the best lake viewpoint of all, from
Mala Osojnica, which offers a bird’s eye view of the island with the church and the massif of Stol in the distance. Hike will take you approx. 2,5 h from your hotel.
– TAKE A PLETNA BOAT RIDE TO THE ISLAND: Traditional wooden boat ‘pletna’ will take you to the island in the middle of the lake. After landing, climb 99 stone steps to reach the
Assumption of Mary Church, where you can listen to the church bell and ring it yourself. Legend has it that this will make your wish come true!
– TRY TRADITIONAL CREAM CAKE – KREMŠNITA: This title has been bestowed upon the Bled cream cake for decades. If is offered in many patisseries across Slovenia, but there is only one original Bled cream cake. The original cream cake, which has been traditionally made since 1953, almost 70 years, is the most popular one. Original cream cakes are made fresh every day and
are offered at Kavarna Park, opposite the hotel.
Rest and prepare for your first hiking day.

Overnight: Bled
Private transfer to Bohinj lake area. Check-in at your hotel and continue with an easy hike (approx. 4 h).
The trail runs along the Mostnica Gorge and Voje Valley that belong among the most beautiful natural sights in Bohinj. They offer views of crystal clear pools and boldly water-shaped rocks, as well as diverse flora and fauna and a cultural landscape that has been nurtured by the people throughout the centuries.
The formation of the approximately 2 kilometre long gorge is partly connected to the tectonic sinking of the main Bohinj valley and partly to glacial deepening caused by erosion or the
deepening of the Bohinj glacier. Four bridges and a footbridge cross the Mostnica on the way from Stara Fužina to Mostnica Waterfall, so our ancestors named the river after the
bridges: Mostnica (“Bridge Water”). The most famous site is the Devil’s Bridge (Hudičev most) which was, according to the legend, built by the devil himself.
Length of Walk: 12 km
Time: approx. 4 hours
Height Difference: 200 m ascent/descent
