From Ljubljana to Belgrade tour with visit of highlights of Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Serbia.

Itinerary

After arrival to Ljubljana we will have a guided visit of old centre of Ljubljana. See all the main city sights and best places in Ljubljana and get to know its historical and cultural side. Walk through the medieval Old Town and see the main attractions such as the Triple Bridge, St. Nicholas Cathedral, and more.

Rest of the day explore the medieval Old Town on the banks of Ljubljanica River, visit the city’s bustling central market and discover boutique shops and charming restaurants.

In the evening wine tasting of Slovenian wines, later dinner in one of Slovenian restaurants.

In the morning, visit Bled. Enjoy boat ride with pletna boat. Traditional wooden boat ‘pletna’ will take you to the island in the middle of the lake. After landing, climb 99 stone steps to reach the Assumption of Mary Church, where you can listen to the church bell and ring it yourself. Legend has it that this will make your wish come true!

Continue sightseeing with the Bled castle above the lake, the oldest castle in Slovenia. Perched atop a steep cliff rising 130 meters above the glacial Lake Bled is a symbol of Bled and Slovenia – Bled Castle. The image of the castle forming a dramatic backdrop to the romantic island and the church on it has earned the resort worldwide recognition through the centuries. Castle terraces offer spectacular views of the lake and the island. Enjoy some free time for lunch.

Afternoon transfer to Zagreb, meanwhile stop in Otocec and castle Otocec sightseeing. Continuing driving to Zagreb, arrival in early evening.

Morning sightseeing of Zagreb. Visit the biggest church in Zagreb, a traditional market, the only surviving medieval gate – the Stone Gate, we’ll study the insignia on St Mark’s Church and then descend the south slopes of the Upper Town and go from the Lotrščak tower to the main square, the most popular meeting place of the locals.

Free time for lunch. In the afternoon, drive to Plitvice national park.

After breakfast, visit Plitvice to admire lakes, ponds and waterfalls that are now under UNESCO protection for its beauty. In the afternoon drive to Zadar.

We will spend unforgettable day in national park Kornati. Driving by boat to National Park of Kornati, which is a group of 89 small but very special islands. A pleasant sail among a group of islands and a stop on one of the islands where we shall enjoy the picturesque setting as well as a lunch of grilled fish and wine in a relaxing atmosphere. We will see the settlements which are actually the spot of movie shooting of Vinetou saga. Free time to climb to the top of one of the numerous hills and time for swimming in crystal clear water.

In late afternoon return back to Zadar and overnight.

Early in the morning, departure from Zadar to old city of Trogir, another old Dalmatian port under UNESCO protection. Sightseeing in Trogir is a pure joy. It’s a small town and Trogir’s sights are conveniently clustered together, making it an easy walk and easy to understand why it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Start your walking tour from the Renaissance city, above the gate is a statue of the town’s protector, the Blessed Ivan Orsini. Nearby is the town museum which gives a good overview of Trogir’s history. Continue to the town center with magnificent cathedral of St. Lovro, built from the 13th to the 15th centuries and considered one of the Adriatic’s most architecturally and artistically important monuments. Plenty to explore and enjoy this historical Dalmatian town. Some free time before afternoon departure to the south.

Continue drive to Dubrovnik.

With a local guide we will visit the old en-walled city centre which is under UNESCO protection, walk around the walls, which offer great views and see all main attractions. It is surrounded by ramparts and fortresses and is a treasure trove of architectural and cultural masterpieces perfectly preserved over the centuries. A pleasant walk will show you the city’s highlights, including palaces, churches, museums and squares. In the end we will have also free time to feel the city’s atmosphere.

After early morning coffee we will continue to Mostar where we will see the restored old bridge on the river Neretva, also known as the “melting pot of cultures”. Predominantly influenced by the centuries of Turkish rule, the tall, slim minarets reaching for the sky, cobbled bazaar streets with the rhythmic tapping of hammers against copper plates being transformed into pretty souvenirs and houses with ornate wooden balconies will all remind you of times gone by.

Later we will head towards Sarajevo, the capital city of Bosnia and Herzegovina, where we will arrive in the early afternoon. Follows sightseeing of city’s main attractions: old part of city Bascarsija with old oriental architecture. After that you will have time to wander around the streets that never sleep and taste some typical food, especially »cevapcici«.

We spend whole day in Belgrade, the capital of Serbia and one of the oldest European cities. We shall experience the kindness of Serbian people, their incredible cuisine and their music. Visit of Belgrade main attractions. We will see Kucu cvijeca (House of Flowers), last home of Tito, Castle of Kalemegdan above the Danube, Orthodox church of Saint Sava, Palace of Princess Ljubice. Lunch in one of traditional restaurants and free afternoon for individual exploring.

In the evening possibility for dinner on the rafts on Danube River.
